Declan Rice provided fresh worries after limping off late against Brentford with a calf problem, and while the England midfielder insisted he felt “fine” ready to play against Aston Villa this afternoon, Arteta suggests he’s subject to a late fitness test.

Leandro Trossard has missed matches with muscular issues but should return within ‘days’ according to Arteta’s latest briefing, with the same going for Saliba.

Havertz suffered a setback in his knee rehabilitation and won’t return until possibly late December, while Gabriel Jesus finally returned to contention recently after missing nearly a year recovering from an ACL tear.

Summer signing Noni Madueke was out for two months after knee damage against Man City in September, though scans cleared him of cruciate ligament damage. The winger has since returned to action, providing Arteta with a renewed attacking threat.

Of course, the five-time Champions League winner is more well-known for his stellar defensive attributes, and his ability to win back possession has been on display regularly over the past year, averaging 4.09 tackles per 90, which places the maestro in the top 1% of midfielders.

Consequently, it would make sense to offer Casemiro a new deal, but it would have to be at reduced wages, given his age, with the central midfielder currently the highest-earning player in the squad.

وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن صلاح بدا أخيرًا كلاعب في الثالثة والثلاثين من عمره يحتاج إلى راحة، وهي ليست راحة من ضغوط هذا الموسم، بل راحة من ضغوط مسيرة حافلة بالنجاحات.

وتابعت موضحة أن راحة صلاح ليست من 18 مباراة للفريق هذا الموسم، بل 419 مباراة خاضها مع النادي على مدار ثمانية مواسم كاملة، بالإضافة إلى 109 مباراة مع منتخب مصر.

وأكملت مؤكدة أن صلاح يستحق وزنه ذهباً لليفربول، ليس فقط بسبب أهدافه وتمريراته الحاسمة ولكن بفضل جاهزيته، خيث غاب عن المباريات بسبب الإصابة أو المرض في 38 مباراة فقط ، ثلاثة منها بسبب فيروس كورونا، في رقم استثنائي يعكس قوته البدنية ومواظبته.

Mitchell Marsh will retire from the Sheffield Shield at the end of this season, meaning in all likelihood he has played his final first-class match for Western Australia, but the door is ajar to add to his 46 Test caps in the Ashes.Marsh made a rare Shield appearance for WA last week against Victoria at the MCG where he scored 4 and 9. But his involvement in the T20 World Cup, where he will captain Australia through February and the start of March, will overlap with the resumption of the competition after the BBL, then he will be part of the IPL with Lucknow Super Giants.”It has been an honour to play Sheffield Shield cricket for WA,” Marsh, who made his Shield debut as an 18-year-old said in a statement. “Right now I am deeply committed to the group and the [Perth] Scorchers.
